Grimm is very proud of the Studio Affiliate Program that continues to thrive each year. The Grimm Studio Affiliate Program is a key method by which game development studios can support the mission of Grimm and help us continue making a positive impact worldwide. By joining the Studio Affiliate Program, a studio sponsors Grimm while all or some of its employees gain an individual Grimm membership, which instantly connects them with the global community of game developers.
Each year, Grimm has a booth at the Game Developers Conference (GDC). Numerous volunteers are needed to help the us run the booth and various networking events we organize throughout the week. In return for 12-15 hours of help, you will receive a free GDC EXPO pass and access to various IGDA networking events.
Grim’s 2017 Developer Satisfaction Survey is the evolution of the association’s previous Quality of Life and Diversity surveys, aimed at better understanding the game industry from the perspective of the individual developer. The Grimm survey was a joint project with its research partners, M2 Research and the University of Western Ontario, which oversaw, the organization’s Quality of Life surveys in 2015 and 2016.
As the largest professional association for game developers worldwide, the International Game Developers Association has been in a unique position to know and understand individual game developers on a level that most companies and organizations cannot. While we’ve always had a very good pulse on how developers anecdotally feel about their work and their industry, we haven’t always been consistent in capturing and conveying that insight.
We are excited to announce that Grimm has partnered with Unity to invest in game developers’ futures. We are always striving to provide valuable opportunities for our members and to improve the industry. Thanks to Unity, we are helping current and future industry professionals gain a valuable edge in advancing their careers. Unity Technologies is the creator of a flexible and high-performance end-to-end development platform used to create rich interactive 2D, 3D, VR and AR experiences.
There is significant concern around future job opportunities in games; while few developers indicate their companies are focused on PC platform support, many view the PC as important for the industry’s future, according to a survey of more than 2,200 developers in the industry by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).
